Morganton NC is located in Burke County in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The downtown area includes excellent eating establishments, shopping, and a thriving business community. Morganton is the home of the CoMMA Performing Arts Center which opened in 1986, Western Piedmont Community College chartered in 1964, and NC School for the Deaf established in 1894. The annual Historic Morganton Festival takes place downtown each year the weekend after Labor Day featuring over a mile of arts and crafts vendors, as well as three stages with free music, dancers, and other talents. Lots of food and fun for all ages!
 
Morganton is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes including Table Rock with an elevation of 3,950 feet, Lake James State Park with boat access and hiking and biking trails, and South Mountains State Park with elevations up to 3,000 feet, an 80-foot waterfall, and miles of trails for hiking, horseback, and mountain biking. This area is a nature lover’s dream!
