The Town of Hudson is located in the foothills of Western North Carolina along NC Highway 321 in Caldwell County and is home to Jan Karon’s Mitford Museum. The Hudson Uptown Building (The HUB Station) is Hudson’s center for cultural events and houses the Mitford Museum, the Arts Center and Auditorium, the Hudson Dinner Theater, the McCreary Family Business Center, and other local small businesses. Experience the annual Butterfly Festival in May, the Wine Festival in June, the Hudson Hometown Concert Series from June through August as well as other events throughout the year.
 
Hudson is home to Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute with campuses in Hudson and Boone NC. College president, Dr. Mark Poarch received the prestigious award for 2022-2023 North Carolina Community College System President of the Year. The superintendent for Caldwell County Schools, Dr. Don Phipps was named the 2023 A. Craig Phillips North Carolina Superintendent of the Year.
